How often do you rest? There was a season of my life where I took pride in the fact that I worked all the time and never rested. What I didn’t realize at the time was that my lack of rest was also a lack of trust in the Lord. Right now our society places so much value on hard work and “doing all the things” that I thought I was doing what was best for my business and my family by never taking a break. It’s time to stop the glorification of busy! When we rest we offer God our work and allow Him to produce the fruit. This week our verse is Matthew 11:28-30 from the Message version.
Take some time today to look at your schedule and plan a day of rest. The Lord will bless that act of trust and your family and friends will receive the gift of a rested friend who sets such a beautiful example of faith by giving God control.
