Happy Sunday Friend!
Check out our week #4 Bible Verse in Ephesians. I HIGHLY recommend pulling out your Bible or opening your Bible App and reading ALL of Ephesians Chapter 6! If you are a parent, you will want your children to memorize verse 1! 😂
I actually had a totally different verse planned for the week, but God kept telling me Ephesians 6:11-12 were the verses to focus on. The devil is really sneaky. One thing he’s done is trick us into believing he doesn’t exist. Another thing he’s done is make people that talk about spiritual warfare seem… well… weird, or CRAZY. The verses this week remind us that we humans are more than just a flesh and blood. The spirit that the Lord breathed into us is worth protecting and protecting in others. And thankfully there is HOPE! Like always, He has equipped us with what we need. It tells us in this week’s verse, Ephesians 6:11-12, to “Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”
So as I memorize this verse, the following will be my focus…
#1- Recognize the devil is very real and he never sleeps. John 10:10 tells us he comes to steal, kill, and destroy. In 1 Peter 5:8, it says the devil prowls around seeking someone to devour.
#2- Spiritual warfare is real. 2 Corinthians 10:3 says, “For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh.” The devil has tricked us into thinking this was something that happened a long time ago. He’s also probably tricked many people into thinking miracles don’t happen anymore. He’s a liar.
#3- Remember God has given me ALL I need to fight this spiritual war. PLEASE read Ephesians 6:14-18! God has equipped us with His armor and powerful weapons.
#4- God has given me His authority over the devil. Read John 14:12-14, James 4:7, Luke 10:17 Who else finds this VERY comforting?!
