I chose this week’s verse because one of my very close friends, Carissa Casey, shared it with me at a retreat and ever since then, the verse has come to my mind often. Job 38:11 has given me so much comfort, and in a way, helped me really feel the power of God in my life. (PLEASE take time to watch the video posted above! Carissa joins me and shares about this verse and it’s meaning so well! I also recommend you read all of Job 38 so you can have a good reference point as you memorize this verse.)
Imagine the love God our Father has for us. God’s love for you is as infinite as the sands on the seashore. Life brings us so many challenges and oftentimes difficult circumstances. Imagine those hard experiences are like the waves coming up and crashing on the shore. When the waves come, they have to crash into the sand. They crash into God’s love. Water and waves are powerful and in our lives hard times and challenges sometimes seem overwhelming. But the sand endures the waves. The waves and the water do not destroy the sand. The waves can not take away the love the Father has for me. The sand, the shore is where the waves cease. This is where the waves halt; where God’s love protects and shields me.
What peace of mind it gives me to have this visual reference. Think about the abundant deep love the Father has for us is as numerous as the sand on the sea shore, and God’s love is always there as the difficult waves crash into our lives. So the next time life sends you into overwhelm mode, I hope this verse will pop into your memory and remind your soul the abundance of God’s love for you, remember He is the creator. When you feel the enemy attacking you remember YOU have been given the Authority in Christ Jesus to say… “This far you may come and no farther; here is where your proud waves halt.”
God ALWAYS provides a way, and His love covers you.
I made a reference in this week’s video saying…. “God’s not going to give us anything we can’t handle,” and when the video was over Carissa was quick to remind me that the verse in 1 Corinthians 10:13 says “God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.” (Hint… this verse is one you will see again.)
The reality is, we all face things we can’t handle, but God can handle ANYTHING. We all have waves crashing on our shore, but His abundant love is there ALWAYS. The waves cannot take away the sand. He is the creator. He created the wind, waves, and seashore. He is in control.
Know you are loved,
