Last week our verse helped us remember to live a life worthy of the calling we have received. Did that feel a little overwhelming? The Bible says that a tree is known by its fruit. The same is true in our lives. Our thoughts bear fruit. Think good thoughts, and the fruit in your life will be good. Think bad thoughts, and the fruit in your life will be bad. Seems simple enough, right?! We can look at a person’s attitude and know what kind of thinking is prevalent in their life. A kind, loving, positive person doesn’t have tons of mean, vindictive thoughts… and a truly evil person doesn’t have good, kind, and loving thoughts.
So what does this mean for us? It means… WE CANNOT HAVE A POSITIVE LIFE WITH A NEGATIVE MIND!
Here is the GOOD NEWS! In Romans 12:2, God tells us we CAN transform our minds! Week sixteen, we are going to focus on transforming and renewing our mind.
Do you find yourself thinking negative thoughts? Not producing the good, wholesome fruit you know God has called you to produce? Take heart my friend, God will help you transform and renew your mind.
HOW DO WE TRANSFORM AND RENEW OUR MINDS?
- By using His Word. (Read it, write it on your heart.)
- Praise Him (Sing to Him and worship Him throughout your day!)
- Pray (deepen your relationship with Him)
- Gratitude (Write down 3 NEW things each day that you are grateful for. TIP: Never write down the same thing twice. Always find something new!)
I look forward to hearing how God uses this time to transform you. I HIGHLY recommend the PodCast by Adam Young called The Place We Find Ourselves. Check out episode 81!
