Are we being a good steward of what God has given us? Stewardship means “taking care of that which is entrusted to us.” In Matthew 25 we read the parable of the bags of gold. Two servants doubled what was given to them, but one servant dug a hole in the ground and did nothing with what was given to him. (OUT OF FEAR!)
I think we can apply stewardship far beyond money. God has blessed us with many different talents, gifts and abilities.
In Matthew 25:23 the two servants that doubled what was given to them were told “‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!”
Take inventory of the many things God has given you, the home you live in, the car you drive, the money you make, and the material things you own. Think about all the talents you have and the gift of time you have been given. Are you taking good care of them and using them well?
Jesus is teaching us so many lessons in this story! I go into more detail in the short YouTube Video posted above. I’d love to know your thoughts and challenges in this area!
