Fear. I hate fear. There is NO fear in love. If you really think about it, just about ALL negative emotions can be tied back to fear. I think about the times I get upset or frustrated with my children, the deep down emotion is fear… fear for their safety, fear they are not learning what they need to be, fear for their health, or fear I’m failing as a mother… it’s all tied back to fear.
Fear of what others think has a strong hold over SO MANY PEOPLE. Does it matter what others think? No. God loves us just as we are. This is what matters. His love for us is perfect. We are never alone, and we need not fear.
I personally haven’t figured out how to totally eliminate fear from my life, but I am always working to identify when fear creeps in so I can recognize it for what it is – A LIE. This week we learn that LOVE drives out fear. Taking action (since love is a verb) and practicing LOVE will help drive fear away!
Why do we love? Because He first loved us.
Take a look at a few other Bible verses about fear… Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. 2 Timothy 1:7 For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you. Psalm 34:4 I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears.
Know you are loved,
