Hey Friend, your week five Bible Verse is here! The next few weeks we are going to focus on a VERY popular topic… LOVE. I feel like over the last 4 months the most common phrase I’ve heard is “We just need to love people.” I’ll save my thoughts about this phrase for another week, for now, let’s take a good look at what love IS.
1 Corinthians 13 is a very popular chapter to memorize. If you are great at memorization, then I highly recommend memorizing more than just verses 4-7!
I picked this popular verse for a couple reasons. First, because we all need this reminder! Being patient, kind, not envious, not boastful, not proud, not dishonoring, not self-seeking, not easily angered, and keeping no record of wrongs… IS HARD! It takes practice. LOVE IS A VERB. That means we must take ACTION. If we are going to practice and get better at loving others, we need to have a clear understanding of what God says love is. The second reason I chose this verse is because I feel like most of you are pretty familiar with it. This gives you the opportunity to look back over the last 4 verses and review them!
